Pastor Ben

One of the biggest BLESSINGS of my entire life, is to have been chosen by God to raise a minister. My precious son Ben was called into the ministry his junior year at North Carolina State University where he was a business major. He went on to complete his undergraduate there, met his bride to be- who was studying social work at Meredith, and then the two of them went on to seminary together at Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky... marrying 2 years later. Then one year later Ben had the privilege of marrying his sister Katherine to Jared with the help of Pastor Sally (my niece... can you tell she is carrying twins under her robe- Emma and Mattie will be born in October!) This has been an exciting time for me and for my family- words just can't express the feelings this mom had in her heart... on July 21st... as Ben walked in to the sanctuary, dressed in his robe- Bible in hand- ready to marry his sister. It just doesn't get better than this!

Enjoying the moment

If you had asked me immediately after the wedding festivities, I would have told you that I didn't sit down at all during the reception. But as you can see, I did sit down and had a few minutes to spend with my husband Joe, just enjoying the moment. It seemed like the entire evening was spent working the floor... talking to our guest, making sure they knew how much we appreciated the fact that they cared enough to attend our daughter's wedding. I did dance a few dances, eat some of the delicious food, and as you see... had a few minutes to sit down and enjoy the moment. Taking time to enjoy the moment is a BLESSING indeed and having pictures to relive the moment makes it even more special. To my surprise many of the readers were glad to have a picture of me to put a "face" to my writing. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that indeed it does make my words seem more personal, if you can put a face to what you read. Thank you all for your kind words, encouragement, and loyalty... you are a daily blessing to me!

First Dance

It just doesn't get better than this. The twinkle in her eye and the smile on her face radiates the love that she feels for that handsome "NEW" husband of hers! I am full of so many emotions right now but at the top of the list is how "BLESSED" and complete I feel. The wedding was just perfect and all of the glory goes to GOD!

Making Memories

God was smiling down on us yesterday and everything was perfect! I thank you for the "best wishes" in my comment section... it brought tears to my eyes to realize that you were excited and anxious to hear all about our big wedding day. Our daughter was just gorgeous, the weather was perfect, over 400 people shared this special day with us, the food was fantastic, the band was terrific and our son Ben ( he graduates from seminary in Dec.) performed his first wedding ceremony ever for his sister (along with my niece who is an ordained Methodist minister). It just doesn't get better than this! Pictures and details will follow as time allows.

Wedding Count Down

Wedding Blessings with just a week to go.... 1. We have 396 guests coming 2. Our living room is full of beautiful gifts 3. The crepe myrtles in the front yard are blooming just in time 4. I found a great cleaning service to come next week 5. We have had a little rain and the grass is turning green again 6. I have a permanent smile on my face 7. I am so excited 8. God is GOOD!
