Happy Birthday Big Sister

This is my big sister Kathy and today is her BIRTHDAY!  We had a chance to meet at Mom's house yesterday and celebrate her birthday a day early, which was a blessing indeed.  She has been such a positive influence in my life and has shown me, through example, what unconditional love is all about.  Kathy is constantly giving to others, putting other's needs before hers, and she has a contagious bubbly personality, in a tiny 4 foot 10 inch frame!  She has taught me so much about life; how to put God first, how to be a great mom, how to be an energetic & effective kindergarten teacher, how to be a forgiving and loving wife, how to be a great sister, how to pick myself up out of the mud and keep on going, and best of all: how to recognize my daily blessings and count them one by one!  I love you sister Kathy and I look forward to sharing many more birthdays with YOU, here on earth and... with our Heavenly Father.

I think you must be Sister Cheryl...I don't see myself as a writer even though it is something I enjoy. I stress over spelling, punctuation and grammar but I do get some help through spell check/grammar check and that is a blessing indeed! You have a birthday coming up next week. I hope to get the time at some point to do a tribute to all that you have added to my life. Having sisters is one of the biggest blessings of my life, for which I am THANKFUL I love you, Cheryl!

Thanks Susie! Is your sister older or younger? I know you feel the way I do, sisters are the best!

Actually my sister is younger by almost 6 years. She is my only sibling. I was the first paternal grandchild and the first paternal great-grandchild. I got lots and lots of attention. You can imagine how traumatic it was for me to have to share my throne with another child.

Of course, I am just kidding you. My only regret is that my sister was not closer to my age so that we could have had more in common as children and could have played together more. In many respects I felt like I was a second mom to her.

Anon~ AKA sister Kathy, thanks for stopping by and commenting! You are the best big sis in the world.

Dawn~ I'm sorry I've been MIA again. I'm so busy right now trying to get the preschool program closed for the summer. Our Church teacher appreciation dinner is tomorrow night and then I fly to Michigan for my nieces High School graduation. I will get back hopefully after that. Thanks for checking on me...at least I'm healthy.

Hope all is well. We went to the land of southern accents and returned a week and a half ago. My laptop is still down and my time on the computer still limited. Hope y'all are off to a great summer.
