"FIXING TO"
Growing up in a very rural, very southern, very small, NC town; gave me one of the richest "southern dialects" possible. I have tried my entire life to figure some of the phrases out; where they came from, what are they really suppose to mean, and what words/letters are being substituted. "Fixin da", I think means "fixing to " but it still doesn't really make sense to me even though I am accused of using the phrase without being aware of it. Examples: I was "fixin da" say. I am "fixin da" go to town. You are "fixin da" get on my last nerve! So just in case y'all didn't know (ha,ha, ha), I am being BLESSED with the wedding of my daughter on July 21st. Keeping that in mind... I am "FIXIN DA" have a wedding and I am too busy to blog! I shall return with lots of fun stuff.
