Little Brown Church
Isn't this just the cutest "Little Brown Church in the Vale"? I sang this song growing up and can still remember some of the words..."oh come, come, come, come to the church in the Wildwood"! That song popped into my head the minute I first saw this brown stone church and as I sang, I started looking forward to the great things that are ahead for this church. This is the church where my niece has been appointed Senior Pastor and she has already preached there for three weeks. The parsonage isn't ready yet, so she has been traveling back and forth until all of the remodeling is finished. I can just see my twin grandnieces growing up in this precious church, surrounded by God's children, romping on the church playground, and running back and forth from parsonage to church where mommie works. So many wonderful experiences are ahead for this young family and it such a blessing for me to be a part of it ALL!

It really is charming. I'm sure they'll all make lots of happy family memories there :)

Sue, charming is the perfect word! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!
I just need to get back to blogging. I dont know what is wrong with me lately..I think because all I do is stay at home and well nothing much exciting happens.
my surgery is this week. Got the bedroom ready for kathy and Charlie when they come this Friday. So nice to think that someone will be here to just be around.
Sandy~ I don't do it much either but when I do, I share it on facebook and just keep it short and simple (well I've always kept it short, haven't I). I added the "Share on Facebook" button to my main tool bar and can then share it with one click from my blog. Now don't ask me where I found the Share on Facebook icon to put on my toolbar, but it was on facebook somewhere. I'm bad to just click around until I find what I need.
I will be keeping you in my prayers! God will be with you every step of the way!
It is lovely indeed! I would love to see inside.
When we were kids we always made up new words to existing songs to fit something we were doing. Dad was out of the pastorage for 2 years because of health stuff, so we attended a downtown church in St. Paul. We sang, "Oh, come to church in the City, oh, Come to the church on Dale (the street name). No place is so dear to my teen-age-hood, than the big brown church on Dale!" Good memory!
Dawn~ I love your version of this old song...you are the creative one! I hope you have a great week and I'm saying extra prayers for a job for Kevin. The economy is such a mess... will we ever get out of this?
Hi, I came over from Linda's. I like to find people like me...as in 56(o: I have been married for 35 years have grown kids and like to talk about and post about my granddaughters. Your twin grandnieces are so cute.
Grammy~ Thanks for stopping by, any friend of Linda's is a friend of mine. She has the most inspirational posts and I love to visit her blog. You are welcome to come back, however, I only post about once a week.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers - Kev has actually secured a job - nothing fun or interesting or even enjoyable, but he is thrilled to have 40 hours a week of work to begin next week. I've told him he just has to hang in there and stick with it, no matter how much he doesn't enjoy it!
Great news Dawn, I hope he ends up being happier with it than he anticipated. Blessings to all.
That is a neat looking church...my hubby grew up in a Methodist church and he used to sing that song all the time! I'm not sure I had heard it til I met him! The girls are so cute, especially that one of them with their Elmo's.
Thanks Gail, it is a precious church and I can't wait to visit and hear her preach. I've heard her preach before but at her old church and she is excellent. Aren't the twins cute with Elmo? They are looking at some birds flying in the sky and after that photo they tried to get Elmo to fly. Thanks for stopping by...I hope you have a great week!
This little brown church reminds me of one that my husband and I and our children attended in a community where we once lived. It was always such a comfort to be there on Sunday morning and take part in the worship service.
Hi Susie Q~thanks for stopping by. The little brown church has stirred memories in the minds of many bloggers and that is a blessing indeed!
That is a cute church; I don't know the song, however ;-)
