SMILES
A smile is something that you can always share with others, it doesn't cost anything, and usually gets you a smile in return. It has the capability of lighting up the face and the heart at the same time and sooner or later a smile will come back to you when you need it most. Smiling is contagious! Now that is a win-win situation that we can all use. My smile line wrinkles get bigger and longer each year... but at this point in my life, a smile is so automatic that I don't even think about it... it just happens bringing joy to my heart! Thinking back to all of the smiles that I have given away in 54 years... I earned and deserve these wrinkles and I wear them with pride. Smiles... what a BLESSING indeed... have you shared one today?

Absolutely! Sending smiles your way!
(and you're right about the smile lines...we've earned them)
:)
I am determined not to have my mother and grandmother's frown lines so I smile as much as possible. :)
I smile automatically and often in fact as often as I possibly can!! I love seeing someone that looks like they are not having a good day, look straight at them, smile and get them to smile back. When we went on a mission trip to Austria, the people there were very stern people. I had quite a time getting them to smile. I made it my "mission" to get them to smile. I had a great time...Sandy
Giving out smiles ALWAYS is a sure-fire way to make yourself happier! And you never know when it will really help someone else!
One of my favorite movie lines is from Steel Magnolias. Dolly Parton's character says: "Smile! It increases your face value."
Agreed! Thanks for sending your smile to us today. I quit teaching when I was developing frown lines on my forehead - smile lines are much better!
I too wear my little smile wrinkles with pride...I love smiling and laughing too :)...
Blessings on your weekend and always.
I love to smile as often as possible! (I'm 54 too!):)
absolutely! :)
That is absolutely true. I have begun to notice lately what just a smile can do for the people you meet during the course of a day. Some looked surprised, but they almost always smile back. I think God uses smiles in a very special way.
I love smiling, specially at strangers - amazing to see thier reactions!!!! Love post - Take Care
Nancy,
Speaking of smiles...Your comment last night made my sister smile. She has taught lower elementary for over 30 years.
Here's what she said in her comment...
...Also, I am currently reading "The Story of Holly and Ivy" to my students at school...some things simply must remain constant in our lives! Ahh! Tradition!!!!
(By the way I love Nancy! How decerning of her to think your sister was special and how gracious of her to say it!!!!)
Smiles, I needed to read that today! Surfed in from another blog and found yours and enjoyed some of your posts. I have a daughter w/same name but spelled Kathryn; she lives in North Carolina! Too far away from me in MS, well really her baby is too far away I suppose! And I saw your post about Tikki Tikki Tembo, such a fun book...we read it to all 4 of our kids. Nice to read some of your stuff.
God put me on this earth with a smile from ear to ear. Smile and the whole world smiles with you! :)
This is so true, Nancy. Smiles ARE contagious. And I'd rather have smile lines than frown lines any day. Yep. We earned every last one of them.
