Pansies

Fortunately, I live in an area where pansies will bloom all winter long. Their velvet petals of many colors are like tiny faces smiling at me, as the days grow shorter and the cold, gloomy winter days overtake me. Their eager expressions peeking out at me remind me of the simple BLESSINGS in God's beautiful world and I want to soak in all of the beauty found in that tiny flower, enjoying every single moment... even on a gloomy day. I also like to press the pansies between heavy phone book pages and make bookmarks out of their smiling faces to share with others. Sharing and enjoying one of my favorite flowers, bringing sunshine to someone on a cloudy day, that is a BLESSING indeed!

Pansies are amazing, aren't they? They even last through our Colorado winters. The bookmark idea is wonderful.

I'm so far behind that I'm glad to be back and reading your blessings. More about the reasons tomorrow for Thursday Thirteen!

We get to have pansies too. I love their little happy faces also. I did not plant any this year because I could not find any at the stores that really looked healthy. Your picture is pretty. Yours look good. Thanks for sharing. I hope your day has gone well. Mine has been busy and just grieving for my cat Lucy and praying that she comes home soon..

Pansies are one of my favorite flowers. Where we live they bloom only a short time in fall and in spring. I had none this year and I missed them, thoguh the Lord did provide me with single blooming rose bush (as opposed to the ones that didn't bloom.)

I've always thought pansies were just the happiest looking little flowers. I love it that they actually survive snow and continue to smile at us.

Pansies are actually my husband's favorite flower as well. I just love the variety of colors they come in. Especially the deep velvety reds and purples.

Hi Nancy,
Thanks so much for visiting. I love pansies too. They plant them all over here in Texas - once the cooler months arrive. They look so sweet. I would plant them in front of my house - but the deer are rather fond of them too. So I just enjoy looking at them when I visit other places.
Please stop by again.

Up here only mums are surviving and there is talk of snow on Friday...but in a way I'm looking forward to snow. We northerners are funny that way!

Everyone should take time out of their busy lives to enjoy the beauty around them. We have a horticulture program where I work. I'll sometimes visit the greenhouse to relax and enjoy the flowers. The inmates take great pride in showing me what they've tended and cared for.

I have always loved pansies. My daughter used to have a window box filled with them and they faced into Freddie's bedroom. When he was first learning to talk, he used to say the pansies had smiles.

What a lovely post.

We've had a foot of snow here in Vancouver. Brrrr.

Cheers,
Josie

Thanks Nancy for stopping by and I am so sorry for the down and sad blog but I just had to vent some I guess!! Blogging is journaling and well I took advantage of that. Thanks again for your comments. My week has been stressful in several ways. I am looking forward to next week. I know that God will help me through these trials. Thanks again...Sandy
