First Dog

If you are a regular reader, then you are already aware of what a BLESSING Elmo is in my life, just look at that sweet face (Elmo's not mine)... don't you think Elmo looks ROYAL and worthy of the prestigious honor of "First Dog".  No, I'm not giving Elmo away for a four year term in the White House or even for a romp in the oval office (after all she is a republican- much too royal for a democratic administration- he he)!  BUT...  Elmo is a Labradoodle which is one of the top choices for the Obama's "First Dog".  A Labradoodle is a mix of Black Lab and Standard Poodle which makes a hypoallergenic, lovable, playful, smart, fluff ball of a pet!  Thanks to this Presidential acknowledgement, my free pound puppy is now worth $2000.00!  I would never consider selling my Best Friend but when Elmo goes to heaven, I would like to have the opportunity to obtain another Labradoodle.  How could I possibly justify paying that much money for a dog?  Well, I CAN'T but it makes me appreciate even more the BLESSING of owning this perfect pet. God is good!

What a special dog and what a special Elmo!! She is a doll!! We have had dogs over the years but just never got along with them as well as we do cats..funny but that is the way it has been.
You look very happy!! That is always a great thing!!

Love your political editorial comment! I will not be watching the festivities on Tuesday - don't want to have an upset stomach all day long!

What does Elmo's and your shirt say?

I find it interesting that they never let the girls have a dog until it became an opportunity for lots of press. Or maybe I'm just extremely cynical!

Well, I finally got around to the first episode of our anniversary getaway.

Hi Sandy! I think some people just have cat personalities and some have dog personalities which is a blessing that both have animals to love them. We are both HAPPY!

Dawn~ I hope your grands are better and I look forward to the anniversary blog.

Our shirts say "INASMUCH" which was a one day mission blitz that our church had last spring. Elmo and I visited rest homes. She is a Therapy Dog!

I usually stay away from politics here but I just couldn't resist today! I do have respect for the new administration, as I would for anyone in that position. My prayers for our country continues as we face so many obstacles.

Wow!!! And you knew all along that Elmo was a very valuable fella.
I didn't know he was a labradoodle. In fact, I never heard of the breed until they mentioned it in connection with the White House. I'd say you have a very precious doggy - in more ways than one.
Thank you so much for your prayers for my Dad and for your always sweet comments. I appreciate your friendship so very much.

I know Linda, can you believe it? How awesome is that! I could of told them how special labradoodles are 9 years ago when I thought they were just mutts. GO FIGURE!

It sounds like your dad is getting the best possible care and with all of your love to share, he will "win" no matter what! My prayers continue....

Nancy,
Maybe Elmo will be a long lost cousin to the actual "first dog."

I was checking my usual weather sites tonight to see if we were in for more snow (we got 8 more inches over the weekend for a total of about 16), and I see that we are done with new snow for a while. But it looks like you are going to get some in NC. Enjoy!

You need to post some more pics of the dog!! Is she as big as she looks in that pic?

In the picture on the post below this one , he looked smaller and more like a regular poodle. Is his temperment like a lab or a big poodle ?? How much does he weigh--

Hi Kim~ Elmo weighs about 50 pounds and is a great mix of the two breeds. The lab part makes Elmo extremely active, loving to run, jump, and chase. We live on a farm which is perfect for an active dog. The poodle part of Elmo makes her easy to train and do tricks and from both breeds she inherited loyalty which makes her the best pet ever. Have a great weekend!

Oh I LOVED your comment about Elmo being a republican and too royal for this administration! Perfect! I agree with you, I respect the office and will be praying but just wasn't my choice and I'm already saddened by some changes that have been made.
My blog has been down for a week or two and I'm missing blogging and visiting! Hope to be back soon.

HI Gail~ I'm glad you stopped by and explained your blog had been down. I've been trying without success and couldn't figure it out... hurry back!

Yes, we will just have to keep praying for the new administration.

Good luck on getting things back up and going.

Thanks! Nothing I can do though......my blog and my sister's is on their server at their house and their computer went down. So I have to wait on my bro in law to get parts in and repair it! I'm having bad withdrawals, hopefully next week.
