VBS

It's Vacation Bible School time and our theme this year is Surfing Through the Scriptures. I'm the Assembly Leader and we're doing a beach scene skit each night. I will be the voice for Flamay, a Flamingo puppet. Flamay is self- centered and egotistical and during VBS week, she changes her life by learning to; Be Obedient, Be Kind, Be Forgiving, Be Bold, and Believing. Having a great Be- Attitude in life is so important for all of us and I look forward to sharing these things, August 3rd - 7th, with the children in our Church and community. Surfing Through the Scriptures can be a BLESSING for all of us, even if we don't have the opportunity to attend Vacation Bible School. I need a daily dose, how about you?

I do need it Nancy. It sounds like a great week is in store for everyone involved. I pray He will pour out His Spirit as you teach those little ones.

I love hearing about everyone's VBS themes - our church is doing the second half of last year's, so that should be great - they already know the songs and the characters. I haven't felt the nudge to offer to help - we'll see! Have a great time.

Dawn~ That's a great idea to have a two part Bible School. Maybe we could continue this one next year... you never get to do all of the activities in that short of a time anyway. They always offer material that's never covered. That would be less expensive too... just recycle!

I think everyone will understand if you don't help... you do have your hands full with the grands!
Plus you use your God given gifts wisely which is a blessing indeed!

Oh, this is wonderful- and a great way for God to use you to minister to children! I bet being the voice of a puppet is just so much fun!
My girls go to VBS every year and they just love it! Theirs will be the first week of August.

Our VBS is going to be starting here this Monday. Our theme is Game Day Central and I volunteered to be a "coach" for the 4th and 5th graders. I will just basically be leading the kids from the sanctuary, to the games, to crafts, to the bible story section and so on, but the cool part is if a child wants to ask any questions or has decided to accept Jesus has his/her Lord and Savior I get to be the one to be there for that child. I was only going to help with the games, but I am actually excited about this.

I think the beach theme is a really cool idea too and I am sure that the children will get a lot of joy out of the puppet show that all of you will be performing. Will you be posting pictures?

Cris~ What a blessing you will be for all of the children and I'm sure the children will bless your life as well. It's fun reading about other Bible Schools. I do hope to post pictures so keep checking back and have a great weekend!
