First Home
My son and DIL have started their ministry together with a new home in Greensboro, NC and a new position as a minister, for a United Methodist Church near Guilford College. A fresh start, a new beginning, with their lives ahead of them... they are as excited as a small child waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve! I too, am excited with all of the possibilities and my heart is bursting with pride. I look forward to July 26th... the day I get to hear him PREACH! It has been such a BLESSING for me, witnessing the Christian growth, dedication and devotion that got them to this point. I look forward to watching them plant the seeds. The seeds that will grow in the lives of all the individuals that they minister to. Oh, the possibilities...

Hi Nancy!
Your pride in them shines through every word of this post! What a wonderful opportunity for them.
xo
Thanks Susie... I am so very proud of them. I just read about the fire. I'm so glad no one was hurt and that your property was safe. Continue to heal!
Nothing like your first home!! I think it is always such a special place which for me holds great memories. I am very happy for them
Sandy
Hi Sandy~ Their first home will always be a memorable one... ours was too! A blessing indeed, with so much to be thankful for.
What a lovely, cozy looking house, with a very happy couple on the front steps. What a blessing that they have reached this oint in their marriage and ministry.
Dawn~ They are like kids in a candy store which is so exciting to observe and yes... a blessing indeed!
Nancy,
This does indeed look like a cozy start in a new home. What a wonderful calling and fine job of parenting. You've every right to be proud in the best sense of the word.
Tom~ I don't want to use the word "PRIDE" loosely but in this case, it is the one word that conveys the emotions that I feel for Ben and his accomplishments. I don't feel like it was completely my parenting but rather God's guidance and my ability to listen. I wish "the Angel of the Lord" had come down and LOUDLY shouted, "Nancy you are going to raise one of my servants, he will one day serve as a pastor, so be careful how you raise this kid!" (hehe) I just know that I did the best that I could with the talents God provided and all the glory goes to Him. Thanks for your kind words, it makes this mom feel special... I don't discount your words either, I just don't feel worthy.
"Cozy", little, first cottage! What a great place to start a family! (hint, hint!!!), (can you hear me, Ben?)
Now, talk your daughter into letting you post about her new home!
What a lovely house Nancy. I love the front steps and railing.
I know just how you feel. Whenever I get to hear my son preach I am just overwhelmed with emotion. It is such a joy to see our children serving the Lord.
Linda~ Such a joy... I couldn't have said it better! Just one more thing we have in common... and that is a blessing indeed.
How exciting for them! And it's no wonder you are proud of them, too!
I pray God blesses them abundantly as they begin this new chapter!
Tammy~ Thanks for such a heartfelt comment. "I pray that God blesses them abundantly"... prayer for them would mean so much to me. Through God and prayer all things are possible. Blessings to you my friend!
Congratulations to your son and DIL! What a blessing a first house is, as i am sure that your son and DIL will be to many others. :)
Cris~ Thanks for you best wishes for my son and DIL and for the birthday wishes. I had missed you... glad you stopped by.
Hi Nancy,
I just stopped by to say hello.
What a lovely post.
Hi MG~ I'm so glad to hear from you... I really miss you and your blog but I understand completely.
I hope you will continue to stop by just to let me know your doing okay.
Blessings to you my blogging buddy!
Thanks for your comments today - you're the second person who has seen Care Bear in my pictures of when I was young. Interesting!
I also love the "perky senior" comment - I hadn't thought of it that way before, but it's a good thought. Interestingly, that's the word DC used when he first saw me across the auditorium where we were both attending a community church service.
I didn't realize your twins were that far apart in size, too.
As for scanning - I have never figured out how to get them on my computer, so I download them to my memory card from my camera, then put the memory card in my computer - two processes, but it works well.
Dawn~ I had a friend in college that we called "Perky" because her last name was Perkinson and my older sister should have been named "Perky"... so when I read that- it rang a bell in my head. I can picture that personality perfectly which helps me gain more insight into your personality. I will take all the clues I can get out here in bloggerville! hehe
You would think one twin would eat more, wiggle more, or just gain inconsistently but NO... they just stay one pound apart. GO FIGURE!
Thanks for the scan tip. I'm going to try it. I'm so excited... I hope it works. I will let you know.
Have a great weekend!
You have the cutest family.
You are blessed.
Hilary~ I'm so blessed that my kids turned out the way they did. It was a struggle for some of the time but for the most part it has been a joy! They take after their dad- that's why they are so CUTE!
You have precious kids too and I know you enjoy every minute of being their mother. Plus you have cute dogs- they take a lot of TLC too!
