Graduation Blessings

(This is reason number 2, explaining the added business of my holiday season. See the previous post about Katherine's move into her first home with her husband)
This handsome, ( long haired- says mom), young man, is my precious son, Ben. He stands on the campus of Asbury Theological Seminary, in Wilmore, Kentucky- where he has spent the last several years working diligently to obtain his Masters of Divinity degree. On this cold gloomy day, HE GRADUATED- bringing bright sunshine to an otherwise cloudy damp day. Proud is a word that I spoke often that day, but it is really an inadequate description because it goes deeper than that. It is a spiritual, as well as an emotional feeling... one that has overwhelmed me ever since the first day that Ben told me God had called him into the ministry. My heart actually- physically-" leaped for JOY" that day and the glowing warmth that it created returns each time I think that God chose me to raise one of His servants, one of His vessels, one of His disciples, one of His ministers! It is truly an humbling experience and one of my life's biggest BLESSINGS! I am proud of you Preacher Ben and look so forward to the great things that God will do in your life. HE will be with you every step of the way and so will I!

Morning Glory- Ben reads my blog so I say thank you for him. Thanks for stopping by.

Sue- You are so right about the "heartfelt pride"... God is good!

Tom- He has worked very hard and yes, he is the hiker. He hiked the Appalachin Trail between college graduation and seminary, thus a December graduation.

Yes, I have been busy and with all of this going on... I think I will be ready for Christmas.

Dawn- It has been a roller coaster of emotions. Emily's parents are Ben's godparents and it has been very hard for them to celebrate with us. They are still in so much pain. Please continue to pray for them.

I hope you are still loving Hawaii... what a dream vacation. I am enjoying reading all about it.

Yay for Ben! That is something to be very proud of!
I've often wondered how I was more busy now that my 4 are not at home than when they were little! Things like this and the house are reasons why I think. And the fact that mine don't live close.

Daily Blessings indeed. I LOVE reading your blog for many reasons Nancy. One reason or blessing is to see your strength in the Lord and the way this “strength” guides you in your “Daily Blessings”...your daughters wedding and the joy and happiness this brought you, your niece who had twins, and now this, your son Ben graduating from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Wonderful news about Ben.
Thank you for sharing your sorrow, joys and daily blessings with {ME}, with us!
Happy Holidays*

Ben- I'm glad you read by blog and I really get excited when you comment. You are one special guy and I love being your MOM! Now about that hair cut!!!!!!!!

Gail- Thanks for stopping by. I do think my age limits me too. Oh, to have the energy of a 25 year old.

Sandy- It is so neat to have Ben keep up with my blog. It is probably a good idea so that he can keep up with what I say about him.

Jen- Glad you stopped by!

Hilary- You made my day with your kind comments. It is encoragement for me to know that others are blessed as well. I always tell you to enjoy every minute with your children... and I do so because I know how fast time flys. They are small for such a short time but your influence on them at this age is HUGE- it will stay with them for a lifetime! Thanks again for your kind words- I do have so much to be thankful for and you are a blessing to me!

I'm going to be away from internet access until after Christmas day, but I wanted to stop by and wish you and yours a Merry Christmas

P.S. Please pray for my mother. She has been battling breast cancer that has spread and got a bad report this week. She's trying to be upbeat, etc. and not dwell on it over the holidays. We'll be with her for New Years.

Thanks for stopping by yesterday - I have posted a short update this morning on Kristen's situation.

I noted in the news that one of the young women who was shot in Colorado Springs at New Life Church was a twin. I thought of you and your god daughter's family immediately. So sad!
