A Summer to Remember
Hot, hot, hot... yes that is 109 degrees on my porch and the humidity was also high that day! It was August 3rd and thankfully weeks after the wedding. As I have said before, God blessed us in so many ways during the wedding weekend but one of the biggest blessings was the weather. The high was in the mid 80's, low humidity, and Carolina blue skies... just perfect! Then after the wedding the heat started, the drought came, and there was no relief at all, until this weekend. We had 70 degree days and cool 50 degree nights. The drought continues but this cooler weather is a blessing indeed. It is a perfect way to start October in North Carolina... maybe the rain will arrive soon!

Goodness Nancy! 109ยบ sounds way to hot to this California girl!
You were certainly blessed to have mild and pleasant weather for your daughter's wedding.
xo
Sandy- You are correct, it still gets a little warm in the afternoons but nothing like this summer. I am enjoying the cool evenings.
Susie- You are right! It was way too hot for me too. I just stayed inside with the air conditioning.
Nancy, we had the warmest September here in the Chicago area. Tomorrow is Oct. 2 and I think the forecast is calling for something in the mid to upper 70's. Beautiful weather but not characteristic for this area and month of the year.
I didn't realize you live in North Carolina. I must have missed that in my reading of your blog. My husband and I lived in NC for a while during his time in the Air Force. He was stationed at Pope AFB by big old Fort Bragg.
Oh, so glad the cooler air is there at least at long last!
I am just catching up...Wow- I'm so glad that you all weren't hurt in that car crash, Nancy! I know those things are still a hassle, but what a true blessing you all were protected!
(((HUGS)))
Wow! 109 degrees? Soundsl like Death Valley with humidity! I'm glad it cooled off for the wedding! ~ jb///
I just finished Nicholas Sparks' latest book - he always makes NC sound so lovely. But he doesn't mention 109 degrees!
We're having such a lovely fall here in Colorado. I hope it lasts through Thanksgiving at least!
Susie Q - I am familiar with Fort Brag and they usually have hotter weather than us but this summer it was about equal. It is very humid in both places. We live on the opposite side of NC and finally have some cooler days.
Tammy- Glad you stopped by. I had missed you lately but it is always fun to catch up.
LZBlogger - Thanks for stopping by and please come back. You are right- Death Valley with high humidity... yuck!
Dawn- Not many people let you in on the "foothills" secret... heat and humidity. This was worse than usual but 90+ with high humidity is the norm.
Finally getting a bit of cooler weather here in the south but still some 89 temps this week! Better than 100's though.
Oh wow! 109 degrees?! Now that is hot! Glad to know you guys are feeling the relief...
My dad lives in Kentucky and he told me that they are experiencing a drought right now as well. I hope that the drought ends soon for both of you.
