TWINS!

Happy Birthday Ella and Mattie!
What a blessing (and surprise) just one month after the wedding!
Pastor Sally on the right (my niece that helped Ben perform Katherine's wedding) had the twins this morning after being in premature labor since Monday. Ella only weighs 3.2 pounds and Mattie only weighs 2.6 pounds because they were born at 29 weeks. They are all doing great considering the low birth weight and your prayers would be appreciated. They have a long road ahead of them in the neonatal unit for the next several months. This has really been a stressful summer and it's not over yet! But the best is yet to come...

Boy they are tiny...Do they have a good survival rate? Being born that young and that small I just wondered. Our CURVES manager just had twin grandkids..one a boy and one at girl at 32 weeks i think. They were 4 lbs. 2 oz and 4 lbs 6 oz. They are good. The little girl has some defect in her brain though. but through prayers she is going to be okay I just bet!! Sandy

Thanks Tammy and Susie for your prayers. It is scary because they are so small.

Sandy- They are tiny and it will be a rough couple of months. I am thankful that they are in a big teaching hospital with specialized care.

Dawn - I agree what's up with twins. I think that is the neat thing about blogging- we can connect on so many levels. My prayers continue for your twin grandbabies.

Oh my, that can certainly be scary indeed. But thank God for the advances in modern medicine that He has given us to where even those who are born prematurely have a great chance of becoming strong and healthy. I will certainly keep them in my prayers and congratulations on the two new little blessings.

Chris- You are right it is such a blessing that technology has advanced to the point that babies this small can live. Gifted Doctors! The babies are about the size of two adult hands side by side. Thanks for the prayers.

I will include Sally, the father, and the twins in my prayers. I am confident that with our advanced technology and plenty of prayers, the twins will thrive.

Congratulations to everyone on their births.

SusieQ - Thanks for your encouraging thoughts. "Congratulations" is the word they want to hear... last night my nephew told me it sounded so good to hear that word from others because it sounded so "normal" and I think right now they want a big dose of "normal"! Have a great weekend.

The twins will be in my prayers. How exciting and a bit scary, but it's awesome to know that God is in control of every moment of their lives.

I love the names too! Keep us posted on their progress.

Dawn- Thanks for checking on the twins... they are growing and making progress. Still a long way to go but every small milestone is encouraging. Good news... they are digesting the breast milk which they receive through a feeding tube.

What good news. One of my math teachers had a baby on the same day. She is doing fine. Her husband came by to show us all pictures on Monday.

Tom- Thanks for stopping by... I'm loving your new chapter and looking forward to more. I'm glad the new babies don't live it my house (they can come visit anytime). I think we are both in better places with an empty nest.
