Vacation Bible School

Flamay, the flamingo puppet was a huge success during our Vacation Bible School. My arm got a great workout during the week... singing, dancing, acting and staying up in the air, covered in pink fur, while doing all of those antics. Of course, it was a BLESSING in so many ways, just look at the next picture!

The smiles on the children's precious faces, tell the rest of the story! That's Flamay (aka ME) in the middle. Who could resist a week filled with hugs like that?

Awwww, I am really glad to hear that your puppet show went really well. :)

I finally have the pictures posted from our VBS as well. (LOTS and LOTS of pictures) It truly is a blessing to see all those kids having so much fun learning about the Lord. :)

Chris~ Doesn't it feel great to have VBS behind us? I can't wait to see your pictures. I'm headed that way now!

I would have loved to see you as Flamay! Our VBS is over now, too. The flu went through the staff terribly - I had it for 3 days and was glad I hadn't offered to work. It's great to see the enthusiasm of the kids and the new prospects for Sunday School!

Hi Dawn~ Sorry to hear you've been sick. I got the throw up virus from the twins this week. I just can't seem to shake it.

VBS did create enthusiasm and excitement at church. We did a small skit with Flamay and the kids for both worship services today.

So that's you in the middle, eh? I need to come by more often. I almost forgot what you looked like.
=)
Puppets are a wonderful tool with kids. Our band teacher at school is an excellent vantriliquist (sp) and the kids love when she does chapel.

Puppeteering is no easy task. I couldn't believe it the first time I had to hold my hand in that position while squatting! It sounds like you all had a great time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! We have some things in common and I'd love to swing back by sometime.

Please let me know what you think of The Shack after you read it.

Susan~ Thanks for stopping by... I will get back with you after I read "The Shack".

You are so right about your arm getting tired. Our skit was about 10 or 15 minutes, twice each night, and my arm would just ache before it ended. Flamay would also sing and dance during the song sessions but I found that somewhat easier because my arm didn't have to stay in the exact same position.

I hope you will stop back by.

Sorry Tom~ I'm not sure how I missed your comment. Thanks for stopping by. I have to keep my readers on their toes by changing my look from time to time. hehe The kids did love it... even more than I could have imagined. A few were even a little bit afraid until I took the time to let them be the puppeteer.

Tom~ I forgot to add this before. I need to get over to your blog and catch up soon. I'm missing your latest saga. I was very busy with VBS last week and I then I got the throw up virus (YUCK). I'm better so maybe I can catch up tonight, please forgive me for falling behind. It's not due to lack of interest but lack of time. SORRY!

Nancy,

Yes it does. It was a lot of fun and I will definitely be doing it again next year. But with having Lexi's birthday party the next day after VBS it took me two days to recuperate. LOL

Hi Nancy,
Another one of your many talents! That puppet is just too cute for words! I'm sure it really enriched the VBS experience for the children!

We had Vacation Bible School a couple of weeks ago. Being a teacher I usually have the day off and have lots of energy for the evening. (We have our VBS in the evenings.) This year I was taking a class and was tired when I headed over to church. It was amazing to me when the evening stated I didn't feel tired but excited to be there. It was a fun week.
I am glad your VBS went so well. I loved the puppet.

Coe~ I think the excitement from the kids just lifts you up and makes you feel less tired. I'm sure you were a blessing to all of the children.
