Summer Reminders

In my neck of the woods, the daily high temperature, is usually in the low 60's for this time of the year.  We have had many frosts and a couple of hard freezes... but on Tuesday the temperature didn't get out of the 30's ALL day.  That rarely happens here, even in the deep dark days of winter.  So, you can imagine my surprise, when I returned from my daily walk to find these beautiful roses still blooming.  Of course, I had to cut them for this bouquet because their hours were numbered...  outside in that freezing COLD weather.
I'm just starting to feel better after a sinus infection, so it was such a blessing to find this little gift from God.  A gentle reminder that He is always there for us, especially in the darkest, coldest moments of our lives.

Thanks Sandy~ I guess it's cold your way too... very unusual for this time of the year. I do hope you get relief for your pain soon. I will keep you in my prayers.

Love the color of the roses--I am surprised they survived. Most of our plants that we didn't take in or cover shriveled up!

Kim~ I was shocked when I saw them. I had noticed the buds earlier but didn't walk for several days due to that nasty sinus infection and had assumed the buds froze in the earlier freeze. It was such a pleasant surprise. Thanks for stopping by.

Nancy,
Sorry to hear you had a cold. Lots of "bugs" going around up here, too. But we have no flowers left. In fact, we are getting snow right now (lake effect snow happens where we live along the shore).
Hope you're feeling better this week.

I"m glad you're feeling better - I had some of those late roses too, and such a blessing it was.

We had temps in the 70s Monday and Tuesday - really weird. Yesterday it was more like it's supposed to be around here in November and didn't get above 34. But today back up to the 50s. We sure need some moisture.

Tom~ As always, it's great to hear from you. My sister sent snow photos this week from your neck of the woods. I was envious but understand that you get very tired of the "white stuff" pretty fast. I guess the lights were on at your Mom's skating park!

Dawn~ Your weather does sound a little mixed up like ours. Today (Friday), is another day that we will not get out of the 30's... very unusual for us. Have a great weekend!

The roses are beautiful! Glad you got to bring them in to enjoy, glad you're feeling better. We got up today and it's really cold for us, in the 20's....I'm guessing it won't last too long in the south! Have a good weekend.

I love the idea of that gentle beauty with the strength to stay strong even under less than ideal conditions.
They're just beautiful!

Linda~ Thanks for stopping by with best wishes. The older I get, the harder it is to fight an infection. God is good! Have a great weekend!
